Deep tissue massage on the upper shoulder removes stiff neck in no time
It definitely helps with stiff muscle in the neck and upper shoulder region.
@@drtoddsullivan Yes that's true. Stiff neck is so annoying, I no longer take any painkiller. Aside from self stretching techniques, the most effective way to cure stubborn stiff neck is deep tissue massage on upper shoulder (preferably using elbows in an outward, circular motion). Massage sessions of 30 minutes costs around $3.00 here in our country, my stiff is magically gone right after the session. You can literally feel the tight muscles being stretched outwards, it feels so good and definitely therepeutic.
Technique is key to gain the most from an exercise. 3 top tips: 1) Focus on putting your weight on your heals (beginners can put a small wedge under their heals until flexibility is obtained). 2)Keep your knees inline with your feet to reduce stress on knee joint. 3) Do not e tend your knee beyond your toes as this puts more stress on the knee joint. Start slowly with less reps and build up over time. With consistency you will improve and your body will get stronger.
Great points, these tips can help prevent injuries and improve your results.
Great for my meniscus tear!!
I have a small lump in my back just beside my spine. Its been there since 1990 didnt grow big,its hard and not painful unless you press it. Is it benign or what?
It is probably a lipoma or cyst. I would get it checked out by your PCP to make sure. Most in that location are a benign cyst.
@@drtoddsullivan thanks doc i feel relieved now.
I'd like to know how long, if ever does it take to break up adhesions in my arch due to 8 foot surgeries which was traumatic and atrophy
It depends on how long they have been there. I would use a combination of Graston and shockwave therapy to break up chronic adhesions.
How many bars + frequency are you using? How do you avoid lung tissue?
The lowest possible amount of power and concentrating on the upper trap and levator scapulae.
@@drtoddsullivan what is the max depth of pentration that can be used over the back and shoulders?
Oh man. So good to read all these comments and feel like I’m not alone. I’m in my early 40s and been hitting the gym hard. I’m in the best shape of my life and then I checked the mailbox and bam. Felt like a lightning bolt went through my lower back. Now I’m shuffling around the house like a 90 year old. 😢
It happens to all of us even chiropractors. 90% of the population will experience back pain at some point. How and what you do will determine how quick you recover. Staying fit and having a strong core will help prevent episodes.
Great video, Dr. Sullivan, great tutorial🙂Regards, Michael M. Kamau, Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa, 23rd June 2024.

I am using Calopad instead of Hyperice Venom Go. It's a medical product from Europe, Swissmade I think and the most advanced deep heath therapy device against certified uses cases such as backpain, neckpain and so on!
Whats the cost ? Thank you What is the warranty on this ?
The warranty is for 2 years and the cost is $249.
I m 56 years female..there is gap in my lumbar spine..will I be able to do squats
Yes you should be able to do squats. Start with body weight air squats.
The front seems taller than the back of the cushion. Does it let you easily keep thighs parallel to ground or does it bring knees higher than hip sockets?
When I sit on the cushion my thighs are parallel to the ground.
Should you keep your face looking up as you do the air squat? I find looking down makes me lean forward and throws off my balance. The goblet squat looks better. Love the dead lift hinge that helps the hips.
Keep your head looking up, try to focus on a place on the wall in front of you.
Great job Dr. Todd😊
Glad you liked it!
Best stretch ever😂
Thanks!
I can not wait to do those for my hips❤
Let me know if you have any questions.
Great video 🎉
Thank you 😁
I love the video
You’re welcome
Thank you! Can one do all of these exercises while having an L5 hernia? Or which ones should we drop/substitute?
Yes you can, just make sure to use proper form and take it slowly. If you feel any discomfort while performing the exercise stop and avoid that exercise for the day.
@@drtoddsullivan Thank you 😁 ✨🌻✨
@@adeodata6364you’re welcome
I have L4 and L5 and 64 yrs old, my pain is manageable due to few stretching that I learned from the Spine care Decompression and Chiropractic Clinic and I’ll try this one and hope it’ll me more to go back to my normal way of living.
I need a chair for my balance. Can't stand on one leg without one.
Most people need to work on balance. Start at your level and it will improve.
Thanks for the ad. My mother is currently crying in pain, but thank you SO MUCH for telling me about a treatment she’ll never be able to afford.
It's not an ad its a treatment that provides fast pain relief for this condition. I would look up a provider in your area that has this service because it can be an affordable treatment option.
One has to be able to get onto ground to start & if alone not so be safe
If you do not feel comfortable on the ground you can start the exercises in a standing position. Whatever position you feel most comfortable in. I would also say if you unable to get onto the ground to start, you definitely need these exercises in case you ever find yourself on the ground. What happens if you fall down, you need to have the strength and the mobility to get back on your feet.
Yea thank you great video
Thanks for watching!
is this editing/cutting REALLY helpful not to me...I find it irritating and unnecessary
Can this help if i caused this by poor sitting choices?
Yes it can if the sitting is putting excessive pressure on the spine.
It good to.excise.i.walk I work use arm work in flower and I walk with client every other day and I excise when home thank to go but look and feel.like I'm forty five I give all to Jesus we got keep him in life as god.and.word say we do all thing threw christ with strength us have bless day and..I'm a,r,

Glad you enjoyed it
At 67 my knees are shot. Stationary power biking is all I can do now without pain.
Thats ok just stay active
I loved this until recently, the amount of plastics released in it just shouts problems to me. Hopefully they can change it.
Hi there, what are your thoughts on F or Radial for a recurring hamstring injury, generally more mid belly than insertional. Thanks for your help!
Is it one size fits all?
Would the radial or focus works to repair tissues on knee joint when your bone on bone already and your doctor recommend a knee surgery to fix the problem?
Focused shockwave is what I used to treat knee arthritis in practice. Focused allows you treat over the boney structures and the tendons around the knee.
My husband has a large size ball under his neck. He said he had it drained one time & it was some shiny silvery that came out in the basin. The next day after having it drained the big ball came right back underneath his neck. That was in the 1990’s. He also has a huge soft spongy long area on the back of his neck that occasionally drains putrid whitish cottage cheese consistency on it’s own when it gets too big. My husband is a smoker & elderly & refuses to have them removed. I’m afraid one day he will just drop if the neck lump should burst.
He should get it treated. I would keep pushing for him to get it assessed and treated.
He should get it assessed and removed.
I am Japanese. One thing I have noticed was, maybe because of the life style, one of the common problems people in Western world have got is their ankles are very stiff which inevitably restrict how much they can bend their knees ( ie squats become less effective). So, this wonderful video will become even better if people can learn how to make ankles 'softer'and more flexible. That will also make walking easier and faster.
That is a great point and a big problem with most of society. I will make a video discussing how improve ankle mobility.
I love the triple-action approach. Break up the adhesion and then the shock wave. Very thorough.
Thanks for watching, it is a great combination.
Please don’t listen to this man, what he’s saying will have that pain away in a week or two, and your back to doing projects for your wife, stay safe out there fellas!
Good point…you just need a doctors note for no yard work.

Does it actually have 42g protein? I find it hard to believe but I want to know. How can you get 42g protein from just low fat filtered milk?
I’m not sure how they can prove it has 42g of protein. But this goes for any protein drink. How can you trust that muscle milk has 40g of protein? I’m sure companies have a way to measure it and support their claims or else it would be false advertising and they would be sued.
@@drtoddsullivan thank you. I wondered the same but muscle milk at least tastes like it has 40g protein 😂 plus i believe it lists the added proteins in the ingredients.
thanks a lot Dr Todd..i am male 58 living in India. i had mild heart attack five years ago at the age of 53..till then i used to do push ups squats etc then stopped as my cardiologist advice me against it immediately after the angioplasty...then came covid and i could not go to the doctor...so now he has given me go ahead to do bodyweight strength exercises..i am doing forward lunges...squats...indian Hindu push up....cot chair lift...glute bridge,,,plank just one set of 10 each...i will increase gradually..feeling extremely fit physically and confidence level in mind has increased...hope i am on right track....cheers

Is a spinal epidural lipomatosis of the spinal cord basically the same type of lipoma that can grow on other parts of the body? Also is an MRI accurate in differentiating between a lipoma vs a tumor or cancerous growth?
It’s similar but it is a bigger problem because it can impact the nerves and spinal cord affecting the function of the nervous system. MRI and biopsy are used to differentiate cancer vs benign tumor or cyst.
@@drtoddsullivan Thank you for the information. I am researching my new diagnosis and trying to educate myself. Lumbar stenosis and bulging disc. It was strange seeing the SEL and stenosis on my MRI and it is causing me symptoms affecting nerves and mobility.
It’s tough to say but I would discuss this issue with a neurosurgeon to see what they would say because that is who would do the biopsy/surgery.
@@drtoddsullivan Thank you for all the good information you are sharing!
